Project 01: Art Gallery

Freshman Fall 2020

.This design explores form and space by drawing inspiration from László Moholy-Nagy’s “k VII”. The work can be seen as the main focal point in side of the space with a monochromatic color scheme that adds a splash of color. The forms that make up the space are inspired from the line work Moholy-Nagy utilizes within “k VII” to give the viewer an immersive experience into the artwork. Over-hanging ceiling elements add to the feeling of being able to step inside of the work while bench style seating wraps around the space to give multiple viewers the chance to experience and take in the artwork. Ample space and light allow for viewers to move through the space freely giving them the chance to just pass by quickly or stick around for a longer view. Lighter colors were used around the artwork to ensure it would be highlighted as the most important piece of the space.
